Memories and Change: Creating Your Future with Hypnosis and moving on from the past

Whatever thoughts and mental image pictures you hold in your mind affect you, even down to the cellular layer. Your self image, who you think and define yourself as being, dramatically influences your body shape, health, habits, personal relationships, prosperity level, spiritual level.

Personal growth is a process, not a product. Hypnosis therapy, using your subconscious mind as an ally, is the ultimate personal growth tool.

Our mind creates our experience – physical, mental and emotional –  and it can therefore be the catalyst for changes we wish to make. Hypnosis can enable us to have more direct access to this function.

The mind is likened to a bio-computer and acts as an information storage-and-retrieval system. We take mental holograms of everything that happens to us during our lives – what we see, hear, taste, smell and feel. When we recall the ‘mental pictures’, we are using our memory, tapping into our subconscious mind.

All mental images (hologrammatic thoughts) are past information, archival in nature, and do not necessarily have anything to do with the present. Attention is the key to activating the information stored in the memory bank of holograms. If we pay attention to a depressing memory, we will begin to feel depressed, even though it is not happening ‘now’. The same with happy or empowering memories – whatever you pay attention to increases.

You are not any of your thoughts or memories. You are a viewer of the stored pictures, but you are not the pictures. You are the one who is in control of which thoughts or belief systems to pay attention to and activate.

There are many ways to control these mental holograms, even if you are not consciously aware of it. Consciously you can change their colour, size, location, the brightness, the focus, the volume of the sound, or the  speed of the movie in your mind.  In fact, you can even change the emotional content and effect of memories. You could do this yourself, or be helped by someone else to lead you through these changes.

Hypnosis is a very special and effective kind of communication. We offer this service. A trained hypnotherapist can teach you how to change the emotional effect of past memories – in effect, help you with moving on from the past. We can’t change your past, but we can help you change how your past affects you.

Some of the above language is taken from an article on hypnosis which we read many years ago, and which we cannot now locate. We thought it worth passing on as it elegantly explains our approach, even though we are unable to find the details of its origins.
