Hypnotherapy for musicans and artists: practice and performance

We help people who seek to improve their performance and practice, whatever form that takes. Creativity and expression can find freedom when we are accomplished at centring our focus, and hypnotherapy can help with this.

Glenn Chandler loves working with hypnotherapy for musicians, and has assisted opera, folk, rock and country singers, brass players, bagpipers, pianists, guitarists, violinists, actors and orators using hypnosis. These people have sought help for:

  • Performance anxiety
  • Emotional issues that manifest physically, and interfere with playing and performance
  • Emotions affecting clear vocal performance
  • Confidence in public performance
  • Audition preparation
  • Musicianship: connecting with the music, connecting with the instrument
  • Problems that arise when working in a group or orchestra
  • Fears and phobias about audiences
  • Issues about self-worth, and self-belief
  • Issues of identity and artistic confidence
  • Developing effective practise strategies

Each artist and performer will have a different practice, and the focus will be on understanding your unique needs and goals. Glenn finds that being a musician himself enhances his ability to assist artists and performers using hypnosis and hypnotherapy processes.

For a time he also played the French Horn, but piano was his passion. As an adult he auditioned for both the Queensland and Sydney Conservatoriums of Music, and was accepted to both; he chose to study in Brisbane, completing his studies in Classical Piano in 1990. Since then he has maintained a daily practice.

In the last decade Glenn has been teaching himself to play banjo, focusing on traditional bluegrass styles but also experimenting with tunings so that Bach pieces may be played. His perfect pitch has been challenged by the banjo, but it is a challenge he meets with joy and dedication.
